From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were—I have not seen
As others saw—I could not bring
My passions from a common spring—
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow—I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone—
And all I lov’d—I lov’d alone—
Then—in my childhood—in the dawn
Of a most stormy life—was drawn
From ev’ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still—
From the torrent, or the fountain—
From the red cliff of the mountain—
From the sun that ’round me roll’d
In its autumn tint of gold—
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass’d me flying by—
From the thunder, and the storm—
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view—

voice;
(Trunks, you are making him concerned.)
voice;
[ He scratches at his cheek, looking up at the question. Time to see how Ciel takes this. ]
It's been about seventeen years for me but here I was only gone a few days.
voice;
...seventeen...
It's a wonder you remember me at all.
voice;
It sure took a bit to really process it all.
[ Having memories of a world you had seemingly forgotten for seventeen years suddenly force their way inside your head was... sure something. But, he smiles to himself a little at Ciel's surprise. ]
Of course I would. I said you were my friend, didn't I?
[ A beat. ]
I just... wanted to check you were still here.
voice;
We...are. (But being his friend isn't a safe occupation, he knows.) Are you busy with your family?
voice;
My mom's done the whole doting over me thing so I think I'm good there. Just trying to reconnect with people here now.
voice;
Do you have time to meet? I don't think anyone will disappear in the meantime and I would like to see you as an adult.
voice;
Yeah, I can do that. At your sweet shop?
voice;
I trust you can keep yourself safe.
voice;
[ This is when flying has its benefits. ]
I'll see you in a bit then?
voice; (Action or Log?)
(Anxious and curious. Trunks will likely be taller than him, but that won't bother him. Not at all.
Why must he be so small?!)voice → action; /o/
It doesn't take him very long to arrive, much as it hadn't the first time and so, with a gentle tap of feet to the ground, he stands there outside the shop, blue eyes blinking curiously around as he approaches it to let Ciel know he's here. From the looks of it, it seems that Ciel hasn't been harassed by the locals? He can only hope. ]
action; \o\
Ciel is just making his way to the front of the shop when he spies a much older Trunks outside. He freezes in his tracks, blinking several times before he pushes open the door.)
Come in. (It isn't polite to stare, but it is difficult for him to look away.) My estimation seems correct, though I never expected you to be so handsome.
(He should have probably expected it. Cute kids usually grow into attractive adults.)
Welcome back, Trunks.
action;
Ah, yeah... thanks, Ciel.
[ Cue some more awkward laughter as he steps a little closer and then smiles to the other. ]
It feels like forever since I last saw you. I'm glad you're still here.
action;
Seventeen years is a long time. (Longer than he has been alive!) I'm glad you have returned. I would have missed flying otherwise.
(Oh and his friend.)
action;
[ Since, you know, he's taller now.
But he smiles warmly to Ciel, glad that the other doesn't seem to be put off by his drastic change in age over the course of a few days. ]
Are you doing ok? People aren't bothering you with everything that's going on?
action;
(He returns the smile, a bit shyly. Motioning to the back of the shop, he turns to lead the way, walking slowly.)
I can protect myself. I have a safe place to go if need be and friends I can call upon in an emergency.
(His brow furrows and he adds:)
I am actually surprised it has taken this long to see some sort of conflict.
action;
Really? You've been here for some time, haven't you?
action;
action;
Yeah, that's a lot longer than I was here before I came back.
[ He still follows along, smiling a little as he recalls his last time here with Ciel. ]
Do you wanna hear something funny?
action;
(He pushes open the door to the back rooms and pauses, glancing over his shoulder.)
I'm listening? (Ciel is perplexed, but he needs more laughter in his life. Badly.)
action;
I'm a president now.
[ He rubs at the back of his head, smiling a bit. ]
Of a company, I mean. Not a country or anything.
action;
How do you like it?
(A seat of leadership is complex and not always fulfilling.)
Should I call you Mr. President?
action;
No! No, just Trunks is fine.
[ Geez. ]
But I mean... it's ok? The paperwork kinda sucks and the meetings aren't always so great.
action;
(Boring, boring boring... Ciel can't trust anyone to do it for him, however.)
What business do you head?
